So here’s my first posting. When considering whether or not to start blogging, I thought about why I’d want to do so. I wanted to make sure I had a purpose when spending my time (and yours possibly.) I’m passionate about several topics, including [[[Information Security]]], [[[Project Management]]], and improving how we [[[get things done]]], both personally and in business. What motivates me is the notion that whatever I’m doing will eventually help someone somehow. To summarize:
Learn. Teach. Grow.
Researching and writing on various topics helps me to learn about new events and issues. Ideally I’d be able to teach others about the topic, and in turn they could pass this along. The end result is hopefully growth for me, you, business, etc. There are things that I like to pass along to teammates, friends, and family, and effective blogging should be a more direct and optimal way to pass along that information.
I plan on trying this for six months, starting in January. I will post at minimum weekly, and my initial target audience will be coworkers, family, and friends, with the assumption of minimal technical experience. I’ll try to put things simply, ask for feedback and ideas, and would like to use this as an opportunity to get better at what I do as well.
